I would say keeping order in my life and making lists is very life saving. I wrote a post about "uncrowning one's self" and I think the other thing I do is write poetry and whatever the heck I want. I am also reading A Lesson Before Dying by Earnest J. Gaines. Oh and finally I think my Catherine Project class keeps me tethered to people who like the same things I like. I am a bit of a strange bird and the poetry and great books communities have been so wonderful. I just wanted to cry. I've had such a hard time making friends, and I finally think I have found some through my MFA. It is such an expense, but it has been wonderful. Catherine Project is at least free, but it is a time commitment to read and discuss for such long classes.
I love singing in the car. Music has always been important to me and helped me with my feelings. Being outside with my daughter and playing with her also is my joy.
I love love LOVE that you’ve been singing in the car especially with the windows down! And yeah, as I’ve mentioned, I’m with you on the social media, especially Facebook. It’s like being stuck in the car when your kids are fighting. Even if you agree with one, it’s just completely annoying. And I am so enjoying our Voxer chats too! I hope we get to meet in person soon! 🥰
Loved reading this! I love a good list! Whats saving my life right now is having chickens and being able to go get eggs every day when the rest of the world is paying ridiculous prices 😬 but also, using a bit of my baby's naptime to put my feet up, read my Bible, pray and do some creative work is also saving my life.
Also I love a good song your heart out drive!! Go you!!
Great list, Erin! I love it when the weather turns warmer and I can finally drive with the windows down. ;)
Me too! I bet you have to wait longer for that than I do!

I love lists! I’m glad you’ve found some friends in your MFA program. There is nothing quite like feeling like you belong!
Outdoor walks!
And when I feel anxious, walking myself through 1. Is there any action I can take about this right now? 2. If so, do it! 3. Either way, pray about it.
Those are awesome steps! I need to remember them.

Music has always been really important to me, too!

Being stuck in the car when your kids are fighting =perfect description!
Does Facebook bother you more than IG? It's the other way around for me!
FB is more annoying to me, probably because there are more rants and fewer pretty pictures. Ha.

Oh, I would be jealous of your chicken but I really don’t want to take care of them, so good for you! And what a good use of your baby’s nap time!
This is great. I love The Middle (…”the middle”…whispered)
Also, in high school I loved Barbara Streisand (“Her?) and knew every word to Don’t Rain on My Parade and sung it with slightly off-tune gusto!
I love your blog and miss you so much!!!
I miss you too!!
