I’ve been on a bit of an audiobook kick lately and I am listening to an incredible book right now -- one of those where you find excuses to run errands so you can listen to a few more chapters in the car. It is a book called “The Woods of Fannin County” and the author is Janisse Ray. It is about eight children who are abandoned in a shack in Georgia in the 1940s -- and how they survive, find food, etc. It’s sort of a darker version of “The Boxcar Children” (somehow still infused with hope and perseverance and beauty).
